SUMMARY:Restitching Ecological Communities – Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Over the past few centuries natural landscapes have experienced significant fragmentation due to development and other human activities. Features such as roads\, highways\, culverts and dams have impeded the movement of wildlife leading to their decline and loss. This zoom presentation\, on Earth Day\, will explore the problem\, and describe a number of strategies that conservationists are employing throughout the world to help wildlife cope in an increasingly human world. John Turner is a naturalist\, Conservation co-chair of the Four Harbors Audubon Society\, and Conservation Policy Advocate for the Seatuck Environmental Association. John has been an environmental educator and advocate for nearly 50 years and is the co-founder of the Long Island Pine Barrens Society\, a group whose mission is to promote education\, to advocate for the protection of Long Island’s drinking water and to preserve open spaces especially in the Pine Barrens. This is a free program. \n\n\n\nRegistration Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/mpMhpa7qTxO-HAE-01EWYw
