Stock and Wire Transfers

Thank you for choosing to support the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. In addition to sending a check or donating online, you may also donate via wire or stock transfer.

Gifts are most commonly made in the form of funds, but contributions can be made in the form of appreciated securities as well. When you give appreciated securities to the Refuge you avoid capital gains tax that would result if you were to sell the same stock. With a donation of stock, you receive a charitable tax deduction equal to the value of the securities on the date of the stock transfer.

Donating via wire transfer helps us to avoid processing fees from third-party companies like PayPal. When you make a donation through a wire transfer instead of through a third-party company, the Refuge gets to keep 100% of the value of the donation, and no third-party companies take a cut.

Visit

The Refuge trails and Outdoor Wildlife Complex are open every day from sunrise to sunset free of charge.  Dogs and bicycles are not permitted on the Refuge grounds.
