Guided Winter Hike to the Dwarf Pines
January 11, 2026 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Start your New Year off right with a guided hike to the ecologically rare dwarf pines ecosystem. Due to a weather phenomenon called “radiational cooling,” the Pine Barrens are cooler than other locations on LI. Learn about this, native flora and fauna, and more on this 3-mile hike that is on relatively flat terrain. Bundle up in warm layers, hats, and gloves for the hike. Space limited. $10.00 per person; $5 per person for 2026 QWR members.
Refund Policy: Program tickets are non-refundable unless we, Quogue Wildlife Refuge, cancel the program due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If you decide to cancel, your class fee will be donated to support our mission driven work at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.
