September 18 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Blue Carbon refers to the carbon dioxide captured and stored by oceans and coastal ecosystems, such as seagrass meadows and salt marshes. These Blue Carbon Ecosystems play a crucial role in reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide, thereby mitigating climate change. With funding from the South Shore Estuary Reserve Program, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Back to the Bays Initiative will provide a presentation on Blue Carbon in the Nature Center and then engage participants with a hands-on activity to help with seagrass restoration. Community service hours will be provided upon request.
Refund Policy: Program tickets are non-refundable unless we, Quogue Wildlife Refuge, cancel the program due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If you decide to cancel, your class fee will be donated to support our mission driven work at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.
