Wild Names of Wildflowers

April 6 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

How did our pretty wildflowers receive their names? Who named them? While some are aptly named, others have strange names. Come listen to how or why wildflowers received the strange names they have, including Latin and common names. Most flowers shown in this power point program are native to Long Island. Presented by MaryLaura Lamont, long time Educational Chairperson of the Long Island Botanical Society and Naturalist at Hallock State Park Preserve.

$5 per person, free for QWR members.

Refund Policy: Program tickets are non-refundable unless we, Quogue Wildlife Refuge, cancel the program due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If you decide to cancel, your class fee will be donated to support our mission driven work at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.
