18th Annual Wild Night for Wildlife

It truly was an amazing Wild Night for Wildlife at this year’s 18^th summer benefit gala for the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, which was held Saturday July 11^th on the grounds of the preserve. Delicious food, drinks, dancing, live and silent auctions made for a fantastic evening in support of the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the sponsors, donors, vendors, committee members, and volunteers who make this event possible. The Refuge’s mission is possible because of your incredible support.

The Gala featured delicious fare by East End Events Catering, libations from Bluebird Hardwater, Long Island Farm Brewery, Championz New Zealand Gin, MeyCorr LLC / Adamas Reserve, Taconic Distillery, desserts & coffee by Olish Farms & Hampton Coffee Company, live music by Noiz & Sunnyland Jazz Band, live and silent auctions hosted by Bill Ritter of ABC News and Haley Schoeck, and a chance to meet our resident animals up close! Thank you to Roses & Rice, Peat & Son Nursery, Aspatuck Gardens, the Barefoot Gardener, Long Island Statue Shop, and especially to Doug & Barbara Nappi from Dragonfly Landscape Design LTD for beautifying the tent and grounds with gorgeous plants and flowers!  

We were thrilled to honor the Winklevoss Family as our 2026 Honorees for their transformational $1 million dollar gift towards our Preserve, Educate, Inspire capital campaign project for the renovation and expansion of the Charles Banks Belt Nature Center. 

This year’s evening was a Celebration of Dark Skies, with celestial theme inspired attire encouraged, as well educational posters and gifts promoting the major importance of dark skies both for wildlife and human health.  A special thank you to William Francis Taylor of Hamptons Observatory for being onsite with a giant telescope for guests to view Venus, Arcturus, and the colorful double star Albireo;  and to Joy Flynn, member of the Dark Skies Advisory Committee to the Southampton Board. 

Funds raised from this event provide direct support for our educational programming, care and facilities for the resident wildlife, and maintenance of this 305-acre nature preserve that is open to visitors, free of charge, 365 days a year.
